Our founder, a mother herself, understands the importance of entrusting your family to capable and compassionate hands.
About Maria
Maria Raimo is the Founder and Owner of Family Care Options, a family-owned company dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized care to families at home and while traveling.
Born and raised in a large Italian family in New York as the youngest of five children, with 24 immediate family members, Maria grew up in an environment where caregiving, hospitality, and connection were a way of life. Food, family, and caring for children came naturally—values that continue to shape her work today.
Maria’s professional journey began with her family’s travel company, Joli Tours, where she was responsible for arranging childcare for international ski groups traveling to Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. Through this role, she had the unique opportunity to work in a Swiss ski chalet, providing childcare services for hotel guests while parents enjoyed après-ski gatherings. This early international experience laid the foundation for her understanding of high-touch, discreet, and reliable family care.
After returning to the United States, Maria attended Parsons School of Design and pursued a career in the fashion industry. During this time, she babysat on weekends in the Hamptons and worked with families ranging from New York City professionals to CEOs and public figures. It was through these experiences that she realized her true passion was not fashion, but caring for children and supporting families.
While raising her three children and two dogs as a single parent, Maria experienced firsthand the challenges families face in finding trustworthy, flexible, and dependable care. She recalls asking herself, “What are my options to care for my family?” Recognizing that countless other parents shared this same concern, she was inspired to create a solution.
From this realization, Family Care Options was born—a company rooted in trust, experience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Today, Family Care Options provides full-service family care both domestically and internationally, from New York to Switzerland. Maria personally ensures that every caregiver is carefully interviewed, extensively background-checked, CPR and First Aid certified, and engaged in ongoing monthly training. Under her leadership, the company continues to set a high standard for safety, professionalism, and quality, because Maria believes that exceptional care begins with experience, training, and trust.
Understanding that every family’s needs are unique, Family Care Options offers a wide range of services including full-time, part-time, permanent, temporary, back-up, and travel care. As a natural extension of family support, the company also provides stroller rentals for traveling families. In addition to childcare, services extend to caring for furry family members as well.
With a hands-on approach and a deep personal understanding of family life, Maria Raimo has built Family Care Options to deliver reliable, flexible, and personalized care—so families can feel supported, confident, and at ease wherever life takes them.
